Hi, I’m Mary. I’m a mom just like you. I spend my days chasing around a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old. I’ve been wanting to start this blog for a couple of years now because it seems that so many of us struggle with understanding and feeling confident with our financial matters.

My mission is to help moms make smart financial decisions and improve their money relationships. That’s why I wanted to start this blog, for moms just like you, to help you feel empowered, knowledgeable, and have a plan for your financial future.

As a mom, you spend your days being the nurturer, caretaker, snuggler, hugger, cleaner, referee, fixer, driver, financier, etc., etc., etc. By the end of the day, you are spent and completely exhausted. If I could take one thing off your plate, it is my hope that I can help make you feel more at ease about your finances.

I’ve spent the last two decades learning, writing, and teaching in the world of financial planning. I’ve learned so much that I want to share. After graduating with my masters in personal finance, I wondered why no one had ever taught me these vital life skills and basic financial principles. So, I left for Washington, DC to light a fire in the world of financial education and help make sure that everyone had access to basic financial literacy. I quickly found there are several noble causes and groups that had the same goal I did: to empower Americans to make wise financial decisions.

After working in the financial education sector for many years and gaining a Ph.D. in financial therapy (relationships and money), I feel even more of a drive to share this knowledge and insight with others. In my new stage of life now as a mother, I feel connected to moms just like me who are busy doing and being so many things to their families that I can’t think of a better, more worthy group to help empower.

I am a full-time mom and part-time professor looking to help lift and engage other moms on this vitally important topic. I hope you have the opportunity to feel connected and learn a bit more about something that you may feel unsure or uneasy about. That’s okay! That’s why I am here: to help you navigate the road ahead, no matter where you’ve come from financially speaking.

So take a look around, ask questions, and let me know what you want to hear more about! I’ll get to all of them as quickly as I can. Thank you for your interest and I hope this allows you to be a little better every day, even in hard things. I also hope you find a community here and a place to rely on for knowledgeable, honest, and up to date information on your personal financial matters. Thanks for coming. I look forward to growing together.

Mary
